Vista - Unable to logout, restart or shutdown
I would be quite surprised if they had to break OS X programs to get the X/Open certification. Do you have any details on what they had to change? They work in more registers at that stage- or at least, fast, register-like memory. More 'official' registers are nice, but it's not like this lack has kept x86 from

I had planned to tell you about something great
They work fine here in my installation. Do they work correctly when you choose Start - All Programs - New... and Start - All Programs - Open? Okay, this is kind of an Office 2007 question and kind of a Windows Vista question. You know those two useful little shortcuts (New Microsoft Office Document and Open

What happened to the Mabry demo software after they closed down?
You apparently do not understand the liability issue. CA & ZoneAlarm which are the largest among their peers have very low liability due to their small size and MS on the other hand is very massive. In lawyer's terms it is a dip pocket. They have a VESTED interest to make sure that their anti-malware products work

Windows VISTA .... really that bad?
(A lot of these can be made to work, as Microsoft seemingly did provide a 32-bit Explorer and Internet Explorer if they were needed or desired. That is true of XP64; I don't know about Vista64.) There are indeed two version of Internet Explorer in Vista 64. And I would suggest you do a bit of reading in the Mac

Windows Vista at One Year (Dark Side Report)
Have you ever found anything worse than Mcaffee; other than maybe Norton? If you really can't respond I throw it open to the group to answer if they wish to do so. SOPHOS on our work systems was coming pretty close to Norton a few months ago. SOPHOS gave us a client which would virtually kill the PC as soon as an

They are planning for a 64bit product, but it is not one now. Same with Webroot products and Bit defender. Check and don't assume software will work. This is a key for me, as I run a lot of older programs that work just fine and do exactly what I want them to. I would hate to have to track down new ones, or upgrades. Especially since most things keep going down the path of bloatware. I much prefer several programs that are small, do what they need to and that is

They are all running Open Enterprise Server/Netware 6.5; none are running OES/SuSe server, so if you are running SuSe rather than Netware, that may explain your problems with Oracle flat out doesn't work which means there will be problems with purchasing, finance, and HR. Vista and Java do not like each other.

I ran an Alta Vista search and came across a number of them. They are these things you can stick over your screen and will act as an anti-glare guard as well as magnify what's on Do they work? It won't work, and they "might" fix the driver "sometime". I would love to be able to help, but I have no more way to make Apple, Xerox, or Microsoft disclose its release schedule than you do. My Vista is very slow
When I installed the files manually, the games work. Not only do they work, they work better than on XP. (Wonders will never cease.) Was it intentional not to include the DirectX 9 files with 99% (or more) of all programs out there still using it? Or, did I miss something in the installation of Vista?
